Hera Pheri is a hilarious comedy where three innocent dreamers stumble upon a chance to earn lots of money but the wrong way. Shyam – Sunil Shetty – comes to Mumbai to apply for a job. But there is another applicant for the same job – Anuradha Panikkar – Tabu. Shyam decides to fight for his job and starts residing as a paying guest with Baburao Apte – Paresh Rawal, a garage owner. Raju – Akshay Kumar – is Baburao’s other paying guest who disapproves of Shyam right from the start. These are four people in dire need of money and only a miracle can save the situation. The miracle occurs in the form of a wrong number phone call. Kabira, a goon, has kidnapped the granddaughter of Devi Prasad, a rich businessman and is calling on Baburao’s phone number by mistake and demanding ransom. Raju hatches a daring plan – to talk with Kabira posing as Devi Prasad, and to talk with Devi Prasad posing as Kabira, ask him for double the amount of ransom money which Kabira had originally demanded save the girl, give half the money to Kabira and keep the rest. They carry out their plan with courage, but being innocent at heart they fear they will be duped. Though their plans fail at the end, their innocence and courage wins them back their respect & wealth.

Bollywood is gearing up for the clash of the titans. But this time it would not be on the screen or in any award function but on the small screen. The entire tinsel town is abuzz with the Dance Premier League mania with Kareena Kapoor , Bipasha Basu , Salman Khan, Arshad Warsi and Sohail Khan having already confirmed their association with the show and having picked up their respective teams.

The latest buzz is that there is merely one slot up for grabs and both Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are eyeing it. The two stars who are seen as big rivals at the Box Office don’t want to miss this golden opportunity of being a part of the show. Dance Premier League would offer them a solid platform for promoting their films. There are also rumours that Salman is trying to settle his scores with Shahrukh by trying to get Akshay on-board. It remains to be seen who grabs the team and who bites the dust in this.

Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia

Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on the 9th September 1967 in Amritsar to a middle class Punjabi household. His father was a government worker. He grew up in Delhi and later in Mumbai’s Koliwada area. He did his schooling at the Don Bosco School and his college years were spent in Khalsa College, where he showed an inclination for sports.
He studied martial arts in Bangkok while working as a chef. He came back to Delhi to teach martial arts when one of his students suggested he try his hand in modeling, which led to an offer to act in Deedar as the lead actor.
Akshay was linked with several of his co-stars like Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Pooja Batra and even Rekha. He is currently married to actress turned entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna and they have a son Araav.

Post ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, Akshay Kumar and Nikhil Advani have joined hands once again, reinforcing the trust they’ve in each other’s abilities. Nikhil’s new project is titled ‘Patiala House’ and will team Akshay and Anushka Sharma in principal roles. In fact, this is the first film Anushka has signed outside of Yash Raj banner.

The film stars Rishi Kapoor in a pivotal role. “Besides, I’ve cast a lot of actors from U.K. since they’d add authenticity to the scenes. The story is based in Southall, U.K.,” Nikhil informs me. What’s the film all about? “It’s a father-son story. The son gives up his dream to save his father’s reputation, until he meets a girl who gives him the strength to stand up for what he believes. It’s about second chances,” Nikhil divulges.

When he entered the industry, he knew two things – Punches and Kicking! Acting followed and though it took a few films for the industry (as well as himself) to realize his acting potential, it was Akshay’s expertise in martial arts that kept the show running for him. The young man who flew from Chandni Chowk to Bangkok and landed in Mumbai, his initial films like Mr. Bond, Ashaant, Paandav, Kaayda Kanoon and many more ran in theaters solely on his action power!
Now close to 20 years after establishing himself in the industry, Akshay Kumar is all set to be living his dream. He is now sponsoring a Karate Championship for the youngsters so that they can enhance their talent, represent the country and then move on to showcase their skills and abilities at an International level.
